Here’s a nice shot of downtown Philly that I took while looking at apartments…

Broad Street

I’ll try and take some more pictures on my next trip, which might end up being this weekend (Feb 26th).

There’s a whole street of stores that’s setup like an outside mall. That’s on Market. I know there are a few stores on Broad St (Banana Republic comes to mind).

There are more, but I really haven’t made any effort to look for them… just haven’t been in the mood to go shopping yet.

In Philly you can check out walnut street from broad and walnut to around 18th and walnut there are a ton of stores that I can’t afford:) They just build a cole haan, there is a kenneth cole on that strip, ann taylor, coach, Local designer shops and tons more.

Also some awesome high end food too ala le bec fin, they just had a festival on walnut where you could familiarize yourself with the shops and foods for lower prices, the food at least dunno about the clothes. But definately the place to check out.

Also there is a strip between 13th and sampson and 13th and chestnut, forget the name of the shops but along the lines of what’s on walnut.

Then there is old city, south street, basically hit up most of the major downtown streets and your most likely to find something.

Check out philly style magazine and it should have a lot of info also
Oh and welcome to philly matt!!

iwent to philly in 2003.i expected it to be much more exciting.stores are very few and restaurants are low quality.the people i found very friendly.the airport is fantastic.

we loved philadelphia, maybe francesco visited the wrong places and restaurants.many high quality stores in market street, great hotels ,we stayed at the downtown marriott.the only thing that worried us was taking a walk at night, after 10 p.m. but i would be very happy to return.great city.the only place we preferred was san francisco.
