Just as Muse reminds me of Radiohead, The Shore reminds me of bands like The Verve, Travis and Coldplay.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s not really a good thing either. Because, while listening to their self-titled album, I feel like I’ve heard it all before. And in a way, I sort of have. That aside, the CD is actually quite good. Standout tracks like “1. The Hard Road”, “3. Take What’s Mine”, “5. Waiting For The Sun” and “8. Hold On” are top-notch. “The Hard Road” and “Waiting For The Sun” are so especially good that it almost makes me forget about the comparisons I made earlier.
Bottom line, this is one of the best non-british britrock bands I’ve heard. Yeah, they’re from L.A… who knew?
