I guess it's because of their tighter, more produced sound (and the occassional synth-pop element) that made me enjoy it. The Killers were just "cleaner" I guess. Since then or a for awhile Alternative radio and big cat record companies are soley going for the retro style thing. The alternative poison isn't even out of the rock bands of now. I get more annoyed with when folks think this is the king hit.
