Remember the band, the Stone Roses? Well, Ian Brown was their lead singer. The band was a big hit in the alternative music boom of the mid 90′s and while they may not be around anymore, Ian Brown still is. Now, onto his album.
At first listen, I really like this CD… British pop/rock music at it’s best… great melodies, soaring vocals, high production values. My favorite tracks are 1) Longsight M13, 2) Time is My Everything, 5) Solarized, 7) Keep What Ya Got, and 9) One Way Ticket To Paradise. However, as the album closes, I’m left feeling a little empty. I don’t know why, but the album just didn’t leave a major impression on me. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t see myself listening to it a whole lot more after this initial round.
