CD Review: Auf Der Maur
Joshua Lane / / No CommentsMelissa Auf Der Maur, the former bassist of Hole and the Smashing Pumpkins has apparently come out with a solo CD and here it is:

The album was produced by Chris Goss (Queens of the Stone Age), and features 12 tracks including collaborations with Josh Homme (QOTSA), Brandt Bjork (Kyuss) along with James Iha and Eric Erlandson both formerly of the Smashing Pumpkins.
Unfortunately, this CD is only available as an import at the moment, but I’m guessing it’s due here in the US fairly soon. The track “Followed the Waves” was just added to iTunes as a Pre-Release single so that likely means it’s coming. Anyways, that particular song is awesome (think Queens of the Stone Age, but with a female singer and slightly more melodic). Those of you with iTunes should check it out or, if you’re daring like me, just blindly purchase the import disc.
UPDATE: I should have just checked Amazon… the CD is due June 1st here in the US and retails for $17.98.
