This past weekend, I found myself hanging out with a bunch of couples. I had a great time, but being a single guy, this scenario can get a little depressing after a while (through no fault of their own). Naturally, my mind started to wander to the last few times I was with someone… which was this same time a year ago. It was also around this same time that I met all of those couples I hang out with. And so, I started to reflect on this past year of my life.
In early 2005, I was living (and working) in Frederick, MD. I was also depressed and weighed about 50lbs more than I do now. I was in a rut and I needed to do something drastic to break out of the monotony that had enveloped my life. And in January of 2005, I had decided… I was moving to Philadelphia. It was the best decision I’ve ever made.
And now, here I am… happy.
So, to my dear friends (both new & old), thank you. Thank you for thinking of me when planning weekend activities. Thank you for inviting me to your parties. Thank you for wanting to come visit my new home. Thank you for being there. Thank you for caring. Thank you for changing my life.
